Could I be bipolar?

I've been having extreme mood changes lately. Even on the same day I can feel great for hours, and then suddenly I feel exhausted and very depressed. I have to discuss this with my psychiatrist, I'm really worried. Is this normal?

Re: Could I be bipolar?

I guess it depends on what your definition of normal is. My pdoc and tdoc hate that word. I'm not a pdoc but it sounds like you getting evaluated for BP wouldn't hurt. what do you see a pdoc for now?

Hi katlin, I'm not a native English speaker, what's pdoc and tdoc? I see a psychiatrist.

Re: Could I be bipolar?

I agree with Kat about the word "normal." Bipolar affects us all differently.

For example, I hear voices, have delusions and paranoia as a part of my bipolar while many people do not.

Tdoc stands for either a therapist or a psychologist.

I would recommend that you be evaluated by a pdoc if you think you're bipolar. None of us can diagnose you here since we are not medical professionals.
