Bipolar or not - still confused - Bipolar Disorder Message Board

Hi All!

As I have mentioned earlier, my significant other has been in and out of the hospital for the past two years. Since her last hospitalization, she was diagnosed as BP by her pdoc. Once we got her home, she was advised the her medication will be 1. Lithium and 2. Some Sleeping Pill and 3. Ambilify (for only a month). Despite the Dr's warning that these medication will not show its effects immediately, somehow, thank God that once she got out of the hospital she is back to her old normal self. My question for you now is, is she really bipolar or is this another misdiagnosis?

None of us can make a diagnosis since we are not medical professionals. People with bipolar can enjoy normal mood states when on meds, but this doesn't mean they won't experience a manic or depressive episode at a later time. It's impossible to predict what will happen since we're all different and bipolar affects each of us differently.
