Meds vs. No meds
I had a post and someone thought i was saying no meds was the only option. A statement of meds only or no meds is both illogical so I just wanted to make that clear. My posts have been geared towards the view that there is a place for meds but there is hope for no meds for some people. My biggest press is against the meds fixes me, when really it masks for you. Getting over the issues that are being masked may be impossible it's so ingrained for you. the requirements of getting off meds and doing that sucessfully is very steep and more work than most people want to put into it. Most people are going to want a pill to fix the problem, and then go about their business. That in and of itself locks a person into meds. That has upsides and downsides to it like anything. I might add that I feel the downsides to a meds only approach is the lesser of two choices, I simply look around this site and the story's and that is confirmed for me is all. I've had known personally enough fellow bi polars who in fact can't get off meds simply because they have developed very fixed states such , anxiety, and other types of disorders on top of being bipolar so being free from medications is not an option for everyone. I think I've also made that clear if not I now have.
