I have no idea what "type" I am. My doc never told me, or brought it up, and I never bothered to ask. Ask yourself the question: "Does it matter what type I have?" I don't think that it does, it's just a label.
All you need to know is that you are bipolar and NEED to take medication, every day of your life, for the rest of your life. If you do, life will be better!
As far as what meds you should take ... that is what you psychiatrist is for. There are many different meds, each affecting each person in different ways, with different levels of success, and different side effects. You have to work with your doc to find the ones that work best for you.
After trying several different meds, and combinations of meds, I currently take Geodon, Pristiq, and Tegretol. I'm very happy with those 3 right now! I hope you find what works for you as quickly as possible!
Are you seeing a psychiatrist right now?
