Exclamation Period on Active Pills

I was on Alesse Birth Control for a Month and I didn't get my period until my last day on my non-active pills, and then I started Aviane but I am still bleeding. I am already up to my third active pill, does anyone know when my period will stop? I am a bit worried.

This happens. You can call your doctor and talk to him/her but this does happen. It takes about three months for your body to adjust to the pill and strange periods and spotting during that time are the norm. So just relax and keep taking your pills. Your period will stop probably within another coule of days. Also make sure you are taking them correctly as in the same time every day.
Also you have to consider you switched brands and that can effect you too. Give it some time for your body to adjust.

Okay, I was just making sure becasue I am very worried. I am now on my 5th active pill, but the bleeding (not heavy..and very off and on during the day) didn't stop yet. I am hoping that it will soon. Thanks a lot for replying to me, it helped me out a lot, and I am still looking forward to anymore replies.

Hi when you switch BCP, you bleed more. I switched from Triphasil to MIrcette I thought I had had a misscarriage I bled so much. It's just your body getting used to the new hormones. If it doesn't stop within the week I would call the Dr. just to make sure. Good luck, Aimee

That's okaynormal. No worries about it. The drop in hormones causes you to have uterine contractions which results in a period. It's just the way your body normally regulates itself, except you're doing it externally.

If you start having periods very very irregularly, like, say, while you're still taking regular active bcpills, consider that it might not be working for you -- especially if y ou weigh more than 155 pounds, whether you're overweight or perfect for your body type. Women over 155 pounds have been documented to have like a 60% higher chance of getting pregnant, even when taking the pill perfectly.
