BCP+headaches - Birth Control Message Board

Hi everyone, I just recently went of the pill. I'm wondering, are there any lingering effects in the body after stopping? For instance, I've been on it for 2 1/2 years and suffered bad headaches which I think may be a link to the pills. How long should I stay off them before I could possibly notice a change? Thanks to all!

I was on Diane 35 for a bit over a year and went off them due to suffering worse and worse headaches (and i rarely get headaches). Once i went off them i noticed a change after only a week or two.

Way back when I thought the pill was causing my migraines. I went off it and the migraines did get better althought they did not go away completely. But I couldn't handle any other type of bc. I hated condoms, heard all the horror stories about IUDs, and never got how a diaphram would be that affective. And all the other types of bc are hormon based too. Anyway so after awhile I went back on the pill but this time I tried a different brand. I have been on it for years now (with the exception of going off it to have a baby) and I have not hand any more headaches!

So it might just be the type of pills you are taking. You might not have the same reaction to a different brand. Just a thought.
