Embarrassing BC questions

This is my first time posting...it actually took me a while to find a board like this. I hope it's pretty active!!! Anyway, on to my question. I've been with my bf for a little over 3 years and I just started the pill almost a year ago. I've noticed a few things since starting and I was wondering if this was normal and what I can do to 'help' the situations.
1) I am 10 times LESS horny on the pill than I used to be. I still want to have sex all the time, but before the pill I used to want to jump my bf all over the place. Not to mention, I used to masterbate like crazy. Now, if we have sex once a week, I'm okay....it that normal, is there any way to get it back?!!

2) When my bf and I have sex, my vagina completely swells up and gets incredibly irritated (no, we're not using condoms). It gets to the point where I just want it to stop...and when I go to the bathroom after to pee it is the WORST stinging sensation I've ever felt in my life. This never used to happen before the pill. I don't know if it has anything to do with my natural lubrication, but I always seem to be pretty wet.

3)This is kind of a silly question, but if I can't ask it here, where can I right? When my bf **** inside of me and then pulls out, most (if not all) of his sperm pours out of me too. Does that have anything to do with the pill and how it builds a thick wall almost preventing sperm from entering, or is this normal and happens to everyone? We both think it's pretty gross, but I can't seem to help it!!

Anyway, sorry for the random post and questions (especially since this is my first one), but I hope someone can help me out and point me in the right direction. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Signed,
-Mary Christmas

Re: Embarrassing BC questions

well, you could be entering a new stage in your relationship. It is quite normal b/c the first stage is lust, and that is when you 'll see the higher libido. It is an exciting hormonal time to be with someone new. That is why you hear about so many people get a little frustrated after that stage, cause a lot of times the umph is out versus what it was like before the second stage. Does that make any sense?
Also, when my hubby and I have sex, and I go to pee afterwards, his sperm comes out of me too. I don't know how to explain that and I don't know why it happens, but I am sure it is normal. I am on Depo, not the pill, so some of this is beyond me. As far as the rest of your questions, talk to your dr. Some pills may have sexual side affects. Are you on any other meds? Are you stressed? there can be a lot of reasons for libido changes. But, all in all, talk to your dr.

Re: Embarrassing BC questions

I think the burning pee is probably a urinary tract infection and unrelated to the BC. Also--your horniness might have been because of ovulation, and BC makes it so you don't ovulate anymore. I'm pretty sure, anyway. I know lube makes me burn, are you using any?

Edit: Also, sex is just messy--sperm doesn't just stay in you. Goo gets everywhere. Did he used to *** in you WITHOUT BC, and that didn't happen? Because I'd think THAT would be the stranger thing.

Re: Embarrassing BC questions

A few things....as mentioned, my bf and I have been together for just over three years and I've only been on the pill for almost a year. The 'lust' phase of our relationship has been long over...and I've only noticed the change in my libido since I've been on the pill. I don't even mean just with him...I mean in general. Like I said, I used to be horny and have no problem pleasuring myself (I even bought a vibrator) , and now I just have no interest. I'm 100% sure it has to do with the pill, I just wanted to know if it was normal. It could very well have to do with the hormones in the pill and the fact that I don't ovulate on the pill. I'm not on any other meds, nor am I stressed out to abnormal levels! I'll speak to my dr. at my check-up in November.

Thank you for pointing out that it is normal for sperm to 'come out' after sex. When I wasn't on BC we never had unprotected sex, so I can't compare it. I certainly know sex is messy and goo gets all over...and that's perfectly fine...again, just wanted to make sure it was normal! We typically don't use lube unless it is getting to painful for me (swelling- which happens BEFORE the lube is used) and the it tends to soothe me.

The other thing....this burning and swelling is certainly not a UTI or bladder infection. I've had those before (they tend to last more than a few hours). The burning is on the outside of the vagina, kind of like a tear/cut that you are running under water for the first time (but 10 times worse) and the swelling is terrible...almost like the lips of my vagina swell closed and are puffy. It's incredibly painful to wipe (after peeing the first time) and sometimes I've even had to put a wet towel down there to stop the stinging and reduce the swelling...I'll ask my dr. when I go, but these are some pretty embarrassing questions that I'd rather not ask someone in person if I can get advice elsewhere!!

Thanks again for your responses, feedback and advice. Keep 'em comin' if you can!!

Re: Embarrassing BC questions

I know exactly what you are talking about. After my boyfriend and I have sex, it burns really bad to pee. It's almost like I try to hold it as long as possible to avoid the pain! LOL. On some occasions I even take tylenol to help the pain.

I also noticed a difference in my sex drive by being on the birth control. I think that it is a common occurance for this to happen. I have switched pills and it is still a factor.. so.... ?
