Ovcon 35 - Birth Control Message Board

Hi,

About 3 weeks ago I was put on Ovcon 35 due to massive ovarian cysts.

I have been on Ortho Tri Cyclene for 5 years, but it may not of been strong enough. I was developing 6 and 7cm size cysts. I go for another transvaginal in 2 weeks.

I was wondering if anyone else has been on the Ovcon 35 and how it affected you?? I am dealing with some acne, very sore breast and for some reason a almost like asprin taste in my mouth. It is weird.

I was on it for a very very short amount of time.

Made me violently ill. My GYN at the time shrugged it off told me to buck up. (She was a total *****!) so I got a second opinion from my primary doctor who promptly took me off of it. And told me due to my weight/stature/family history I never should have been put o n it in the first place *Shrugs*

So she put me on a P.O.P to which I had no ill effects.

May I ask what was the problem with your weight, stature and family history that the GP took you off of the Ovcon 35?? Also, what were the side affects you were getting from that pill??

I am due for my period next week, and this past and my breasts are killing me and I have bad cramping, but like I said I am dealing with a large cyst.

When I was on the Ortho, it was very rare when I would get these symptoms so early. Yet, the ortho was not working obviuosly. When I was on the Ortho I would get these symptoms usualy the day before my period. Yet there were times when I would feel my ovulation 1 week prior to my period, and supposedly you are not supposed to feel the ovulation.

Give the Ovcon another couple of months. As far as the aspirin like taste, I've never heard of anyone else with this complaint. Maybe there is something else going on with you? or maybe it's your body cleaning out the progesterone that was Ortho Tri Cyclen.

Again stick with the Ovcon - it's really the best choice out there right now.
