Hello, I am new here, but I have a problem I've been worried about for awhile.
I am a 25 year old female, sexually active (with one partner), never been pregnant, and have been on BC for about 10 years.
For about the past year or two I have been having abnormal periods. I was always regualr, 3 weeks off, 7 days on. Then my periods started getting shorter and shorter, then I started bleeding for 3 or 4 weeks at a time, with huge!! clots during my actual period. My doctor switched my BC, and it stopped my periods completly for about 4 months, then they started back up again, normal for about 3 months and I am back thru bleeding for weeks at a time. My "period" is normal, then I start getting break thru bleeding, then it gets so heavy that I need to wear a pad and and it gets full!! I have noticed that before the break thru bleeding starts I get a sharp pain in my right side where I belive my ovary to be (I could be wrong) and the pain don't go away till my period starts again (sometimes the pain is not as intense, but it's still there). I have had a pelvic ultrasound done about a year ago, and they found nothing, but I'm about to go back to the doctor again. Has anyone had this problem? What should I ask the doctor to look for, tests to run? This is driving me nuts.THanks in advance for the help.
