While I didn't know that you could become infertile for 12 - 18 months (which can be a good thing) some side effects from my experience to help anyone who is taking the depo into consideration. I had to go to the doctor who recommended me to a neurologist for chronic headachs (migraine tyoe), the back pain (felt like I was 80 not 18) was worse then when I wasn't on bc at all, I always had cramps (sharp but then they'd go away after a while) and I had a loss of appetite, since I havn't taken he shot I've been eating like a cow and even on days that I don't and eat like I used to (which is more then when I eat like a cow) I'm still gaining unwanted weight. I had been dieing to gain a little just not as much as I have and I really would have rathered it gone somewhere other then my behind!! Also just keep in mind that all body types are completely different I have a friend that's been on the shot for two years and she loves it with no problems at all. I think I just got the short end of the stick on this one. Just becareful and make sure you fully research your choice of bc before making a decision, and don't go for the "popular" method whatever that may be!! Ya'll have a good one peaceout!!
