I need some nice words from someone who knows about this stuff i came off the pill 2 months ago after being on it for 14 years i`m 30 now would be a great time for a baby but i`ve been reading from the others that the longer you are on the pill the worse it is for you. I`ve had some spotting and i`m only 3 weeks late for my period which others have said is normal .Does the pill really ruin the lining of your womb ?

The pill does NOT ruin uterine lining. The lining of the uterus is shed normally while using the pill, just as it would be shed without using the pill.

Being late after stopping the pill is very common. It will take awhile for your body to adjust and become regular.

Studies indicate that it can take up to 8 months for a woman to get pregnant after using the pill.

The pill does not ruin the lining of the uterus, although one of its effects is the changes in the cervical fluid (giving it a "non fertile" quality and "texture"). After a few weeks, months or more depending on the woman, your body should be returning back to normal.

I've stopped almost 3 months ago after 3 years of using the PIll and the only side effect is I now have menstrual cramps !

I've been on the pill for 11 years. I posted here about problems after coming off of it. I started getting anxiety issues, dizziness, hot flashes, mood swings, etc. (I'm 29) Finally talked to my doc, he said the rapid drop in estrogen "tricked" my body into thinking I have menopause. The side effects should go away in a month, but I started taking my pill again today. I haven't had any cycle issues yet, but it's only been a week and a half.

Now I read that you are not suppose to be on the pill more than 4 years straight at one time? Anyone know if this is true?
