Kinda Nervous..... Please Help! - Birth Control Message Board

Okay, I'm on the pill (Kariva, generic for Mircette) and take it at the same exact time every day. I have never missed a pill. I am sexually active, but also use condoms along with taking the pill. I am on the last week of my second pack.

Here's my concern....since I'm my 2nd pack, I still have a lot of break through bleeding, but am now on the Wednesday on my blank pills, and still really haven't gotten a period, although I have had like break through every day. I'm nervous about this....is there a chance I could be pregnant? Could my period just be really light and seem like break through bleeding?

I'm scared about this, any help is appreciated - thank you!!

well if u have been taking correctly and even use condoms i dont think you are pregnant u just asstarted the pill???/ cause ur body has to get used to it the fist couple of months anyways take care and i hope everything turns out the way u want

There's always a chance of pregnancy, however, it's unlikely in your case. It's normal for your cycle to be irregular and to experience break-through bleeding when starting the pill.

Thanks for your opinions...I feel like it's kinda slim that I'm pregnant since I use condoms and pills, and use them bother properly. Does anyone else have an opinion on this? I'm still nervous about it -- do you think it's probably just my body adjusting to the hormones? I'm only 21, so I'm kinda unsure about how all this works and getting pregnant would not be good right now!! Thanks everyone!

You sound like me. I switched pills a few months ago and was 4 weeks late for my period. I went and got tested but was negative. Don't be nervous, starting new or changing pills will really screw up your cycle. It will work itself out.
