It's definately important to discuss this matter with your physician. Birth control can cause high blood pressure. It's a side affect of all hormonal birth control methods, so the potential to cause problems is there.
Whatever method you and your doctor choose, be sure to keep active check on your blood pressure, to make sure that the hormones aren't making it worse.
