Question Sprintec and skipping a period.

Has anyone ever tried to skip a period on Sprintec? It's a monophasic pill, and I've tried before... but I continually spotted. I'm not sure if it would be much different now, as I've lost a significant amount of weight since then (don't know if the change in body chemistry would make a difference)... but does anyone out there use Sprintec? And have they had any success on skipping periods?

I'd even be interested in getting an extra pack, continuing to take the pills for the week I'm supposed to have my period, and then stop the next week... but I don't know if that works either. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: Sprintec and skipping a period.

Never tried your pill, but yes I do skip periods. Found a pill that works for me to have only 4 periods/year. I'm not on Seasonale, I do the seasonale method with my own pills (Loestrin FE 1.5/30's). No side effects, no spotting, I feel wonderful! But everyone's bodies are different and what may work for me, may not work for everyone.

Chances are if you couldn't skip your period before, you won't be able to now.

Also, if you are going to skip your period, you should complete both cycles. Don't just take an extra week, then stop. You're just asking to have your cycle become screwed up.
