Well first of all, since you waited well over seven days to have sex, you were fully protected, so no need to worry.
They generally say that if you're changing the amount of estrogen when you change pills. For example, going from Ortho Tricyclen to Ortho Tricyclen Lo...you would be going down in the amount of estrogen you were taking so the theory is that it's best to not take a placebo week to ensure that you don't ovulate from the changed level in hormones. The idea is that it takes seven days on a new pill or when starting up on the pill to fully suppress ovulation, so that if you skip the placebo week, you'll still be protected that week by the OLD pack of pills, just as you would be if you had taking the placebo week like always on the old pill. But the fear is that since you are switiching pills, if the hormone level changes, and you take the placebo week and THEN start pills, then you're upping your risk of ovulation since it might take a week of taking the new pills for them to take effect. Or rather, for your body to get used to to the lessened amount of hormone.
It isn't an issue when changing to another pill with the same amount of hormones or to one with MORE horomones. And even had you switched from a higher to lower pill, you would have been fully protected after seven days on the new pill, so you're fine.
