birth control and sex drive - Birth Control Message Board

Hello I"m on my 3rd mos. of bc pills and I have absolutely no sex drive. Does this go away with time, or should I look into switching brands? My body is finally used to this pill and I really dont wanna switch brands now, but I'm thinking its the only way. Does any have any input on this?

The side effect MAY go away, but it may not. If your still lacking a libido after another cycle or so, let your prescriber know. Something else might not affect your libido as much.

Desogen slaughtered my sex drive. I was only on it for a month, though, but that's not a side effect I can tolerate. As soon as I went off it, it came back.
BTW, now I'm on Ovcon-35 and it's working out fine (no libido loss, slightly increased actually

). I've been on it 5 months.

I agree with other poster give it another month & see. Your Dr. may want to put you on a lower dose pill. I had the same problem with sex drive & I also have severe mood swings. When they put me on a low dose pill it solved all the probs.
