Well as some of you probably know, I have been having horrible symptoms since I stopped Yasmin 2 months ago- increased acne (on face, arms, back and neck), increased hair growth (on chin and mustache), no period and SEVERE hair loss (like 300 plus per day). Naturally, this has also lead to extreme depression and anxiety. I saw the GYN last week and after 30 minutes convinced her to check my hormones. She insisted that it was just anxiety causing my hair to fall out, but reluctantly agreed to run the tests. And of course, my tests came back abnormal. My DHEAS came back 312 and my tesosterone came back really high 1.09 (normal range 0.17-0.76). The GYN only ordered the Total testosterone and not the free testosterone...idiot. SHe didn't even have the nerve to call to tell me my results. I called and the nurse told me. Becuase the results were abnormal, she told me she would have the doctor call me. She didn't. She had the nurse call me to tell me that they would be referring me to an endocrinologist. It gets worse...Because my mom works at the same clinic, the endocrinologist had the nerve to tell my mom to tell me that my results aren't that high and that it probably isn't PCOS, so I should just wait another 6 months until the pill is out if my system. Are they crazy!!! I will be bald my then. I have been calling, because I want an official appt, but they aren't calling back. I really think I have PCOS and that these symptoms will just get worse over time (possibly the Yasmin for 3 years was blocking the androgens and preventing these symptoms). I really don't want to go back on Yasmin, because of the horrible side effects, but still want to know my other options. What should I do? Please help...
