i have been on the depo injection for 15 months now, since i had my daughter. i have just missed my last injection due on 16 june 2005 as i am wanting to have another baby. just wondering if anyone else has been on this injection and stopped it to have a baby. how long will it take to get pregnant? with my last pregnancy i was pregnant within a month of trying. thanks for any replies.
I'm not really sure how long. My friend was on it for about 3 years. It took her half that time to get pregnant. She is the only person I have known to get off it. I'm not real informative. Sorry.
It will really depend on the person. I was on the depo for 7½ years. My last injection was in January 04...which means I was protected up to April 04. Had just 1 menstrual cycle in October 04. Found out I was pregnant in January of 05. Conception happenned in December of 04...about 8 months after the depo.
We were not trying to conceive...it just happenned. We were shocked.

I went on Depo after having my first child (who I got pregnant with the first month of trying), stayed on it for 2 years, then went off of it to have another baby. It took me 2 years to get pregnant. Main reason is because my period never returned. I was put on Clomid and after 4 months, I got pregnant. With the exception of the 4 months that I was on Clomid, I didn't get my first period til 5 years after Depo. It really depends on the person. Some women get pregnant within months of their last injection. Then there are others who take years.
