Horrible side effects from Alesse - Birth Control Message Board

I started Alesse birth control for the first time a week and a half ago and I got off of it yesterday because the side effects were so bad. I'm actually still experiencing them, extreme oily skin, a TON of watery discharge, cramps, nausea, anxiety etc. I've never had this reaction to the other pills I've tried. Has anyone had this? I'm a little concerned that Alesse would affect me so much. Hopefully all of this will go away soon because I feel pretty sick and miserable.

last pill I was on I spent the whole 3 months puking daily and not able to eat barely at all. so I though id try a different one this time around. am on alesse. Well I have SEVER acne out break.. pill always seems to do that to me but this one seems to do it worse.

I also have pain in my right leg. paper says to quit pill if you have pain in your calf. but its not really my calf that hurts. If it was a blood cloth it would hurt alot more then it does it mostly just aches. I have bone problems and artheritis so....... it isnt really abnormal for me to have pain. if it was a cloth it would hurt alot more I am sure so I am not gonna overly worry about it.

My skin isnt oily like you have described but I have SEVER out breaks my back hurts from it

I made an appt with the doctor and I think I'm just going to get back on nuva ring which I was on before. I posted on the acne website bc I'm looking for something to clear up my mild-moderate acne. NuvaRing did that but I find it so strange to put a ring in my body so I'm wondering if there is the pill equivalent of nuvaring. I got breakouts ALL over my back and chest too from Alesse. And I totally know what you mean about your back hurting from the breakouts. I think it's because Alesse has androgens or something in it and I guess it makes some people's skin good but other's really bad. So glad I got off of it. I feel so sick to my stomach. Thanks for your advice

this isnt the only pill that has caused me out breaks. but this one seems to do it worse.

at least it dont make me throw up each day and cant eat like last year. At least we assumed its what caused it I got better after I stopped it. oddly enough I had taken it before and had no problem. Guess its like pregnantcy. you can have a baby and be fine yet the next baby you will have sever morning sickness. because I got sick on the one last year I though id try a different one. Alesse hasnt made me sick much but my back is killing me lol

Ive never heard of this "Ring" you speak of, can you explain please?
