| Re: questions about properly taking ortho tri cyclen lo
Your period will start 28 days after the first day of your last period..give or take a day.
And yea, you will start your period after you take the first couple of green pills. Mine starts on a Tuesday (3rd green pill).
Even though you're not taking hormone pills while you're on your period, you're still protected for those 7 days. You can still use a condom if you feel the need for extra protection. My boyfriend and I don't and so far everything's been good.
What the blooklet means by "the first pill in every refill will always be taken on the same day of the week, no matter when your period starts," is that no matter when your period starts or stops, you should take the pill on a Sunday, as labeled.
Your best bet is to just wait till your period is over, and start taking the pills on the first Sunday..then just take them each day. You will always start a new pack on a Sunday.
I haven't read too many good things about Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo on here either...
I started taking the pill before I knew about this site. I just went to the doctor and she prescribed me these pills. I didn't know a whole lot about them.
But since I've started them I haven't had very many problems at all.
People complain about weight gain, acne, spotting and irregularity.
I haven't had a weight gain problem, my skin had cleared up more since I started it, and I haven't had any strange spotting.
So for me this pill is great. Of course it's different for everyone. You don't really know how your body is going to react to it till you start taking the pills..then you'll know for sure.
Good luck, hopefully they'll work as well for you as they have for me.
