Yasmin and Itching / Rash

I just started Yasmin about a week and a half ago and a couple of days ago my skin just started to itch terribly! It has been mostly on my stomach, but also a bit on my arms and my face. Today I noticed some little red bumps around my ribcage where the itching is at its worst.

The nurse at my doctor's office said it's fairly common and was just "my body adjusting to the hormones," but would not give me a more specific explanation or say whether it would go away. She was just like "go take some Claritin." Ugh. University health care.

Has anyone else experienced this? It's driving me nuts. What is causing it? Will it go away?

Re: Yasmin and Itching / Rash

I think b/c Yasmin has a diuretic, you may get some dry skin at first. I'm having this problem as well and just make sure to put lotion on my skin until my body gets used to it. It has also made my eyes somewhat dry which I understand is somewhat common.

Re: Yasmin and Itching / Rash

Yes, I was. I also changed soap to a more moisturizing one.
