I plan on going to the beach next week to boogie board but next week is my period and i ahve bad luck with tampons. I want to know if skipping my placebos and going straight to my white pills on my next pack will work in making me skip my period this month. thanks!

Kristy, If you are on a tri- Pill there is a chance that it wont work. But otherwise yes it is possible. There is also a problem you can have breakthrough bleeding within the next pack- But i wouldn't worry too much!

I used to do this all the time. I actually had very bad problems with breakthrough bleeding and the only way to regulate my periods was to go 6 weeks without the placebo. My doc told me to double up for a day or two if I experienced breakthrough bleeding. It worked for me, but obviously I can't tell you to do that without checking with your doctor first.

There is a chance skipping your period might not work for you, but the only way to know is try. If you are on a triphasic pill (has different levels of hormones through the month) you are more likely to spot or have breakthrough bleeding then if you are taking a monophasic pill (same level of hormones throughout the month).
