The pill is fully effective after seven days of perfect use (ie on time, no interfering substances, no vomiting right after taking it, etc.)
If you had taken seven pills already at the time you and your boyfriend had sex, you were fully protected -- the pill protecting you as much as it ever will)
Yes, you can skip a period sometimes on birth control. If this happens, you can either wait til the next month, and if you skip THAT period take a pregnancy test, or if it will ease your mind, take a test when you miss the first one.
No, taking the pill if pregnant will NOT harm a fetus -- however, it is advised that women who believe they are pregnant NOT take the pill because during pregnancy a woman's hormones skyrocket and taking additional hormones (ie the pill) can increase the risk of hormone-related side effects in the mother, some potentially serious (like blood clots, for example.)
