Just a quick question, if you guys wouldn't mind answering. How many of you had a local anesthetic when you got your IUD inserted? I don't mean the stuff they swab on your cervix, but rather an injected anesthetic.
The practitioner that inserted mine just swabbed with a topical and didn't use anything injected, but when I asked her about it she said some do and some don't. Incidentally, the practitioner I had actually
requested was one that does.
I experienced a lot of pain (been a week and a half and I am still recovering). So I was wondering how common this actually was. Thanks.
