I have a girlfriend that has been taking birth control pills... before her and I had unprotected sex, she had missed 3 days of taking pills... and after we had unprotected sex, she started taking the pills normally.
I know anytime u have unprotected sex, there is a possibility of pregnancy. but i would like to know if there is still a chance she doesnt get pregnant now that she is taking the pills normally... and how could, not taking the pills for the previous 3 days affect her...
Missing 3, there is a good chance of getting pregnant. You have the option after having unproteced sex to go to the doc and get "the day after pill" you have 72hrs to take it, and it then starts your period, and prevents a pregnacy. The day after pill is a pill that is 3 times stronger than the birth control pill (a higher dose of it). It will not matter that she starts taking her pill regularly after she has had unprotected sex! If it hasnt been 72 hrs----look into getting this pill!
Yes, missing three days is not good. Even when you miss one your chances increase greatly, but three is bad news! Sorry!
Actually, with most combined pills, one missed pill does not call for back-up. Check your individual pill packet information insert, but for quite a few back-up is only needed after TWO missed pills.
To the O.P, missing three pills means your girlfriend could indeed get pregnant. Taking birth control pills now will NOT stop a pregnancy.
