This question is more for women with children and who have been or are on some sort of birth control. I was on ortho tricyclen lo and got pregnant. I am now 20 weeks along. Although I wouldn't change being pregnant, I do not want another child at least until my son is in school. What birth control has worked the best? Depo is not an option for me. So anything besides that.
You could try an IUD. They're highly effective and can often be put in at your checkup six weeks after you give birth. There are two kinds, the Mirena, which has a tiny amount of progestin in it to help with periods. It can stay in place for five years. The other kind is the Paraguard, which has no hormones in it. It can stay in place for ten years.
Thanks for the recomendation. IS there a chance the an IUD can make you sterile or make it difficult to have children? And can it be removed sooner if you so choose to? I am doing research on it online a little bit.
There is VERY low risk with IUDs. Less so for women who've already had one child. And yes, you can have it removed any time you want, and should be able to concieve immediatly.
I have two kids and I am pretty sure I don't want any more. I have an IUD and love it. This way I have the option of keeping it in a long time (before hubby gets the snip) Or taking it out in several years if I go nuts and decide to have another baby. But it's nice, you never have to think about it!
