spotting and NOT on birth control anymore - Birth Control Message Board

Hi everyone,

I have a question. Well, i was on Depo my period stopped competley and has returned pretty much back to normal since i have stopped using it. I have been off Depo for about 7 months now. But, i have noticed the last 2 periods that i have had a week after them I would spot for a day. I'm wondering if I still have depo in my system to cause that since i am not on any hormonal birth control now(i have Paragard IUD) and before depo i never had spotting before. Any info would be great. Thanks a bunch.

I had the same symptoms with the same IUD. I also had extremely low back pain all of the time too.. I only had my IUD in two months and told the doctor to take it out. They told me that both the spotting and back pain were normal. I don't care for the IUD at all, but wish you the best with yours. Good luck.

So you spot for 1 day after your period?

That's nothing to be alarmed about if you're having no other problems. It may just be a part of your new, hormone-free cycle. It's okay to spot now and again, as long as it isn't extended.
