Got period after over a year on Depo Provera - Birth Control Message Board

I have been on Depo Provera since September of last year, and haven't had my period since. I did have some spotting a few months after getting the shot for the first time, and that is it. I just got my period and I am concerned as to why. I think it's strage that after a year of not having a period, all of a sudden i have it. I have gotten my shot every 3 months on the right days and now I'm scared that maybe they gave me the wrong thing or something. Please help me out if you know!

dont worry, same thing happens to me..ive been on depo for a couple years and for the most part i dont get a period, then every now and then ill have bleeding or what seems like an actual period....this is a side effect of the depo and nothing to worry about...
