Missed 4 pills in week 1

Okay, I'm searching everywhere and can't find this situation. I missed the first 2 pills in week one. Realized this on Wed. Took pills on day 3 and 4 but not 5 or 7. So, I missed 4 pills in the first week. I had sex with my husband 2 times that week as well. What are my chances of being pregnant? Do I really have to wait 2 more weeks to find out? Any help is appreciated.

Re: Missed 4 pills in week 1

Chances all depend on what week of your cycle this happened in. I am not sure which one, but one week, you are extra prone to pregnancy if pills are messed up.

Most pregnancy tests require you to wait until the first day of your skipped period. But some out there can do it much sooner, (sorry don't have a name of which one). You can always go to your local pregnancy clinic and they can do a test much sooner than that. You would have to look up in your phone book for a Birth Control Service, Planned Parenthood, etc.

Sorry I couldn't be more help but good luck.

Re: Missed 4 pills in week 1

I missed the 4 pills in week 1 of my pack...which would be week 2 of my cycle. So it was like day 8,9, 11, and 13 of my cycle that I missed. What are the chances of your body ovulating because of missed pills when it normally doesn't ovulate while on the pill?

Re: Missed 4 pills in week 1

Hi there.

Because you missed BCP for 4 days this does increase your risk of pregnancy because the hormonal tablets contained in BCP gradually decrease when you miss a dose. This is why some women experience messed up periods when they miss a few pills.

If you've been on BCP for 3 months + I would say you should be protected this time but there is still a possibility of pregnancy. Personally I would wait till your period is late or doesn't arrive before you do a pregnancy test. Testing in 2 weeks may give you a inaccurate result.

You may experience break through bleeding or your period may be 4/5days late because of the missed pills.

Umm.. I don't take the pill so I havn't a clue.. but if this is a commen occurance I would be searching for a new method or your gonna need to change your screen name to mommyofthree. Maybe something that requires less remembering like Depo, Nuva ring or the patch. Personally am not a Depo fan but Love the ring
