Does Vaginal Dryness caused by birth control EVER go away even after you stop taking - Birth Control Message Board

I am 19 years old and I was on the birth control pill seasonale for two months and while taking seasonale I noticed extreme vaginal dryness. I went to my obgyn and and discussed the problem my doctor prescribed allesse, but I am scared to start taking any other form of birth control, I hate using lubricant. I am wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this and if in fact your natural vaginal liquids were ever back to normal

now that you mention it, I have been using lubricant lately and now I know it's from taking the pill which I started a few months ago. There are SO many side-effects that are not disclosed!!! maybe it's in the teeny tiny small print? and that's a good question...will it be permanent?

You should try Alesse! From what I understand, the progestin in Alesse is very androgenic, which means that it could possibly increase your libido, i.e., make you a lot less dry.
This happened to me - I stopped taking ortho tricyclen lo because it made me so dry that sex was painful! I complained to my doctor, she prescribed me Mircette, which also has a progestin that has higher androgenic properties. Things got a LOT better. It made all the difference in the world.
For me, I had to be on the new pill for about 2 or 3 weeks before I really noticed a lessening of dryness. But hey, it was worth it. You should try Alesse.

Any unwelcome side effects should disappear within a few months of discontinuing the pill.
