Ovcon-35 and Ovcon-50 - Birth Control Message Board

I was wondering what the difference is between Ovcon-35 and Ovcon-50. I was wondering what it would do to my body or what it is intended to do differently. I was thinking about changing to Ovcon-50. Thanks for any help.

One has 35 mgs of estrogen and one has 50 mgs of estrogen. I think the Ovcon 35 is used more as a contraceptive and the 50 may be used for other things, like hormone therapy. I'm not positive though.

Ovcon-35 has 35mcg ethinyl estradiol (estrogen component) and 0.4mg norethindrone (progestin component). Ovcon-50 has 50mcg ethinyl estradiol (estrogen component) and 1mg norethindrone (progestin component). I think that ovcon-50 may have more progestin side effects (increased appetite, acne,tiredness etc.) than ovcon-35
