I stopped BC about 4 months ago and I felt enormous ! It was all around my tummy and hips and lasted for several weeks but seemed to ease after my first true period. I did have a really bad time with every symtom under the sun after stopping. I felt like I was 5 months PG with twins and absolutley terrible. I stuck with it and it gets a little easier every month. The week of AF I still get bloated and feel huge then the following week I feel fantastic again. I was absolutely shocked when I weighed myself 3 months after stopping ..... I was 18 lbs lighter !!! I was really overweight but have noticed my body shape changing, especially around the hips and bum. I think a lot of it was water but there has deffinately been weight loss as well.
( for those really worried about putting weight on when starting BC .... I did put on a little weight however, I was on BC for a very long time, had a bad diet and did n't excercise enough. I was very overweight, but mainly because of my lifestyle not BC. DO NOT use BC as a means of putting on weight or stop BC simply to lose a few lbs. A few extra lbs is better than unwanted pregnancy. )
