Birth Control Options? - Birth Control Message Board

Hi everyone,

I have a question for other women on the boards. I had my second baby back in May of 2005 and I already have a beautiful daughter that will be 4 in a couple of months. I'm sure I don't want to have anymore children but I'm looking at what options my husband and I have for birth control. I suffered a lot with Acne and recently lost over 90 lbs going to the gym. I don't want to take any hormone pills that might flare up my skin or cause me to put on weight. I had a friend who got the Depo shot and she ended up gaining a lot of weight.

Can anyone make any recommendations on their preferred method of birth control?

^ the depo made my acne horrible so you really don't want to go on that. I would ask about an IUD (implant).. it's non-hormonal and you don't have to think about taking pills etc.

just because it made your acne horrible, doesnt mean no one should go on it. depo provera has been WONDEFFUL for me, definitely something to consider..

There is one that has no side effects at all for you, since you are sure about no more children...your husband should have a vascectomy! The male operation can be performed in a doctor's office and he needs to take only about one day off work.

I definately wouldn't go with Depo, whether you want more children or not. It was a nightmare for me! Many women out there experience a lot of problems after using Depo. It's like a 50/50 chance you take..........either it'll be a great experience or a horrific one.
