| Normal reaction to one missed pill?
A little history first....
My doctor has put me on birth control due to the fact that I have started having periods every two weeks. Also because she diagnosised me with having cysts. About a year ago I had a hystosonogram due to the period every two weeks and I had a cyst rupture that day....which she said showed up on the sonogram.
Anyways, so I have been on the pill now for *almost* a year. For about 6 months I was on one type of pill, but I continued to have the period every two weeks (not *every* month...but often enough). She then put me on the Ovcon35 which has worked wonderfully, I have been on the Ovcon now for 4 months.
So onto the problem...
Let's see if I can explain this....I do the Sunday start and I take my pills in the evening. On a normal month, if I remember to take my pills every single night religiously, I get to the end of my pack and I do not start my period until I'm on the 4th day of the placebo pills (So usually on a Wed). I then have a very light period for 3/4 days.
Now, if I happen to miss a pill that evening and take it as soon as I remember (the next morning/afternoon), I will start a period. Say I forget Monday's pill...take it as soon as I remember on Tuesday then on Wednesday I'll start a period. In the 4 months I have been on the Ovcon, I have done this twice....and both times the same thing. Both times I had a very heavy/7 day period in the middle of the pack and then another period during the placebo pills (short and light) just like if I had taken the whole pack w/o a missed pill. When I was having the problem with the other pills....I was told to continue w/ the pack as normal even though I was having a period midcycle, so I was doing the same in this case here. I hope this is the right thing to do?? I'm just kind of baffled at why I would have a period after missing ONE pill when it takes three/four days for me to start at the end of the pack?
Is this a normal thing to happen???
Thanks!
