Okay so I am on yasmin have been for awhile, but I am really really sick right now just like cold, sore throat type stuff and I just started this morning taking antibodic pills , me and my boyfriend had sex last night and he didnt pull out , will this affect it? like will I be more at a risk to get pregnant since antibodics dont go with bc??? Hope this makes sense I am in a hurry right now THANK YOU!

Most recent studies show that most antibiotics do not affect the pill as previously thought. Only a very few antibiotics are actually proven to affect the pill. If you'd like to provide the name of the antibiotic you're taking, you might find that it doesn't interact with the pill.

If you are taking an antibiotic that does affect the pill, you should be using a back-up method of birth control while on the antibiotics, and for at least 7 days after taking the last antibiotic.

My question is very similar. I just started taking the pill on the first day of my period. Two days after my period ended, my boyfriend ejaculated in me. The literature with the pills said that I should be okay. The problem is that I had taken four Z PACK ANTIBIOTICS!!! He didn't know. Now I'm so scared. I don't know if the morning after pill is available in my state, and it's Sunday anyway. I've been told by a nurse in the past that you can take four birth control pills at the same time the next day and three or four the day after, and that will work like the morning after pill. But I've been on antibiotics, so would that even work? Should I do that? Should I take the other two antibiotics I have left? I'm a nervous wreck, so if anyone can offer some help, I'd appreciate it.

Zithromax belongs to a class of drugs that is NOT thought to decrease pill effectiveness. You should finish the Zithromax or your infection may return.
