stopping - Birth Control Message Board

hi, i was wondering whether stopping taking the pill before the pack runs out is bad for you? does it mess up your hormones? i ask because had TERRIBLE side effects with microgynon30 and so just stopped taking them, BUT, my periods were very irregular to begin with (i havnt had one in over a year now) i dont use it for contraception, it was just to try and get my periods back on track. do u think it will have worsened my hormone balance? i was underweight for a while but i havnt been for about 6 months, but they stil havnt returned. are there any methods on getting them back? has me finihsing the pack before its roperly finished made the problem worse do you think?
please help!! and please dont say ask my doctor, as they have already run blood tests, ive had a scan, ive had hormone tests and its not polycystic ovary syndrom. i literally think its due to being underweight for a while, but now im back to normal so i dont understand? might i have lost them forever??

I don't have an absolute answer but i do know that i lost a lot of weight a few years ago and was borderline anorexic and i also stopped getting my period. Once i put some weight back on it took a few months for my period to start again. So it is possible that it could be the cause of your missed periods. It could also depend on how long you were underweight. Every persons body is different so it could take longer for you to start again. hope it helps some.
