wife acting crazy after using the patch

my wife just started using the patch about a month ago. she is in her early 20's and healthy.
since she began using the patch she has been experiencing increasing mood swings. one moment she is her sweet self and the next moment she is yelling at me and telling me to shut up, then apologizing a minute later.
i would describe it like she is on a really bad period all the time.
its been really bad lately and she is starting to say some things that are really hurtful just like it comes out of nowhere..
she started the patch at the same time she graduated and shes not working yet, so she is here at home all day going crazy with nothing to do...
im not sure if its the patch causing this or her boredom, or both...
she says she doesnt know why she just feels anger all of a sudden and she cant control it...
any information would be helpful, i am hoping this is a side affect that will go away or hopefully she'll get a job soon too..

Re: wife acting crazy after using the patch

Look Russs, I am on the pill and I haven't even been on it for 1 month and I have chewed my boyfriends Bu** off! look it's not that were crazy or mean, it's jus that our temper is so short it is unbelieveable! honestly I feel so bad cuz like your wife I have also said many hurtful things to my boyfriend and then apologized two mintues later. Look coming from a woman, the best thing you can do is jus try to develope so patients and try not to ANOY her. Trust me! jus ask her how her day was, baby her and make her feel that what shes going through her symptoms and her side effects her moodiness are for both of you and that your there for her! that is possible the best thing you can do! Show her that your there for her! I jus hope my boyfriend is reading this! ^-^ Hope it helps!

Re: wife acting crazy after using the patch

The powers that be say to give synthetic hormones three months. If after three months, she's still irritable and moody, she should check out other BC options. Maybe a BC pill would agree with her more.

No one should have to endure this. It might take some time and experimenting with different pills, but hopefully she'll find the right blend. If not, there's plenty of BC options that don't involve hormones.

Best of luck

I did the same thing on Depo and it got worse as time went on. Some of us just dont respond well to the synthetic hormones. I think the patch delivers significantly more estrogen than pills. I knwo having a flood of progesterone all at once made me a lunatic... I guess Estrogen can do the same.
You know your woman better than any of the posters here do.. youd know if it was "just her normal temper".. if YOU feel its a problem and she sees it as well.. call the dr and see if he can suggest a different type or method.

Good luck... screwed up hormones can really be terrible. I know.

Re: wife acting crazy after using the patch

i would like to thank all of you for your help and compassion for mine and others situations here, thank you.
last night i visited my parents, and you know, mothers know their children best and my mom knew there was something wrong with my mood so i told her what was going on., not in great detail though..
today she informed of that a few friends of hers she works with used the patch and could not stand the hormonal change they went through, one of them she said even got to mad during an argument with her boyfriend that she put her fist through a car window
she told me of something called "jasmin", which i have read about a few times on this forum.
i will look into jasmin as an alternative to this patch.
thank you all again
