Help! - Birth Control Message Board

Hey i had a little question...I havent had sex nor am i planning to anytime soon, but i hardley ever have my period anymore, like ever few months and my mom wants to put me on BC so i get regulated and stuff, but i also heard there are different kinds of BC, so idk which one to use, or where to get it from, i dont feel like goign to the doctor for this so if anyone knows please feel free to tell me. Ps, I also heard different kinds of BC can cause acne and that really scares me, i want the kind that can clear breakouts if that makes sense. mkay thanks-Grace

I have done lots of research because I am a first time user as well. I have heard great things about Yasmin, but even better things about Yaz. I have been on Yaz for a couple of weeks and not a problem yet honestly.

I have tried birth control in the past and as a result had a blood clot in my leg. I am now very limited as to the type I can use.

I am not trying to scare you but wanted to let you know that going to your doctor and discussing the different types of birth control and which one is right for your body could prevent what I went through. Your doctor should be able to tell you why you don't have your period on a regular basis and whether or not to be concerned about it.

1. it's really hard to ask people which bc pill is the best because they are different for everyone. i am on yasmin and LOVE IT! while some others do not.

2. you have to go to a doctor to get a prescription for bc pills.
