Loestrin 24 fe - Birth Control Message Board

I am new here but I have a question. I have been taking Loestrin 24 Fe for almost the whole pack. I am on the second iron or brown pill and have two more to take before I start a new package. I have been bleeding every day since I took the first one cause my doc told me to take it on the first day of my period. Now I haven't been on any bc pills in almost 12 years so I am totally unaware of the side effects that are included with some of these new pills that are out there. Is any one else out there had this same problem??? Should I wait and see if it is going to stop when I start the next package?? Will it straighten out or will I bleed the whole new month!??? I am just about to go nuts!!! Somebody please give me some insight.

I bled the whole first month, too. Loestrin 1/24 with the lower 20 micrograms of estrogen is notorious for causing this breakthru bleeding. I got moved up to the 30 micrograms of estrogen Levora and no problems since.

Some people's bleeding wears off after the body adjusts but I happened to need more estrogen anyway.

Good luck whether you tough it out with the Loestrin or change pills.

As for break thru bleeding, you really need to give it three months for your body to adjust. Good luck and keep us posted!

thank yall for replying....it helps to know if you aren't the only one going through the same thing. I will let you know what happens.
