took the pill late - Birth Control Message Board

Last Monday, I was meant to come off the pill for a break but I had taken the second from last pill a little over 12 hours so I continued onto the pack. On the Saturday I took the pill around 12 hours late too. I know I shouldnt have, but I had sex without extra protection. Im not normally late with taking pill,s this is the first time. I will continue to take all remaining pills on time.
Is this serious? Should I go to my doctors for emergency contraception?

If you are on a combination pill, you should be ok, although it is a little iffy. It is a little late for emergency contraception- it should be taken within 12 hours of intercourse.

Saw a nurse today and she said it was fine...as long as it wasn't a 2/3/4 late pills. phew.
