possible pregnancy while taking zovia?

Well i had my son in July and bled very very heavily for 2 months..he put me on the pill and it took a while for that to even slow down the bleeding..he told me to skip the inactive pills until he tells me otherwise so i wouldnt bleed for a while..well he hasnt been around for a while so im still taking just the active pills so i still havent had my period yet! well my bf and i have had intercourse several times..ive told him to at least pull out if not wear a condom and he never does..its stupid and i get really mad about it so i dont have sex with him much anymore but lately ive been feeling kind of sick and noticed more CM than usual..i took a pill yesterday for a yeast infection and now, my stomach feels really weird..wouldnt say it so much "hurts" its just an unusual type of pain ive never had before..kind of like if ur really hungry and your stomach growls, it can sometimes hurt a little bit..kind of like that but its constant...i make sure i take the pill same time everyday but i know its not 100% reliable..im just wondering if anyone thinks i could be pregnant? do i need to wait to get a pd to take a test? im just worried if i stop taking the active pills, even if im not pregnant, its gonna take a while to get my period back since my body is used to the pill now and it wont come right away and then ill probably be REALLY scared im pregnant. i dont really want to stop taking the pills in case im not pregnant but what if i am? wouldnt it harm the baby?..i would VERY much appreciate anyones input! Thanks so much in advance for any replies!

Re: possible pregnancy while taking zovia?

Well, if you are taking only the active pills and skipping the inactive pills, of course, you won't have a period. That is how women skip periods on the pill, by not taking the inactive pills. Your period on the pill isn't a real period, it is a withdrawal bleed caused by withdrawing the hormones from your body (the days you take the inactive pills).

The symptoms you are having may just be the way you react to the pill; I had a ton of pregnancy symptoms on Ovcon 35 but I wasn't pregnant. It may be exacerbated by the fact that you are taking the hormones continously and not giving your body a break to have a period.

If you are concerned you are pregnant, you could take a home pregnancy test, the pill does not mess with the accuracy of hpts. Then, based on the results of the pregnancy test, you can decide what to do.

In this pack, it might be a good idea to take the inactive placebo pills so you could get a period, maybe your body would respond to that better.

Some women just don't have good luck on hormonal birth control. I had to stop the pill it gave me so many side effects, including increased yeast infections, moodiness & depression, water retention & weight gain, no sex drive.

Thanks so much! That helps a lot! The only thing im confused about is if i take the inactive pills this month, and its not actually a period u get and i do bleed, am i not pregnant? or could i still be since its not an actual period?

Re: possible pregnancy while taking zovia?

Many women, if they are pregnant, don't get the period while taking the inactive pills either because the pregnancy starts producing hormones in the body so that the drop of hormones caused by taking the inactive pills just doesn't register to the body, so they skip the period.

I think some pregnant women on the pill still do get their bleeding during the inactive pills, but I think most women, skip bleeding even on the inactive pills.

If you're very concerned, you could just buy a home pregnancy test to be sure. But like I said, I had many pregnancy symptoms on the pill but was not pregnant (and I got the bleeding during the placebo pills).

Good luck!

Re: possible pregnancy while taking zovia?

Thank you so much for your help!! Just 2 more questions then im done, i swear lol..Since i have been only taking the active pills for quite a while, once i start taking the placebos, should my pd. come right away or could it take a while to start? and one more..if my pd. lasts longer than the placebo pills, do i not start taking the active pills again until im done bleeding or or start them again after a week regardless??
