First Week On B/C But May Have Mistaken For Period.. HELP! - Birth Control Message Board

I had unprotected sex about 2 1/2 weeks before my period was due. Sunday I was suppose to start my period and start birth control for the first time. I had been having the typical PMS symptoms I always get.. Saturday I had cramps so bad I woke up twice with pain. Sunday I put a tampon in expecting to start at any minute by 5pm there was only a very small brown spot (sorry if it's too much information) I assumed it was gonna get heavier so I took my first pill before bed. When I woke up there was nothing! The rest of the day there was just slight spotting but not even enough for a liner. I continued taking my pills every night but it's been 5 days and my period never started. Is it possible for the birth control pills to stop my period that soon even if I've never taken b/c before this week? I still have all the symptoms I had before except now my abs feel sore like I did sit ups last night or something. Anyone experience this before?

I'm on Microgestin Fe 1/20.. the generic for Loestrin

As long as you KNOW you are not pregnant, it is not a big deal to start the pill when you are not on your period. In terms of it not coming, the stress of waiting for it can delay it. I personally would probably take a pregnancy test, then not worry about it any further.

I'm taking the same pill, and my period started 2 days before i started taking it. within the first day i started taking it my period which is normally pretty heavy dissapated to almost nothing for another day or two. So I guess with this pill our periods will be next to nothing.
