Period, too early! - Birth Control Message Board

I've been on bc for a little over a year. Last month I ran out of pills, went 1 week w/out the pill then started again on sunday (after I got another pres.) I got my period this week (which I was supposed to if I had never missed a week) even though I'm taking the active pills. I am supposed to get my period next week, during my inactive pills but I'm on it this week. Whats the deal?!?!?!?! Is this normal? Will I be on my period for two weeks then? since I'll be on inactive pills next week.????

ALSO, I changed from Brevicon to Necon, which is generic. I thought there wasnt much of a difference between brand name and generic.

Your schedule is screwy because you ended too soon. It might take a few cycles to get back to normal, but right now what you are experiencing is likely breakthrough bleeding. I would only worry about it if it lasts more than like, 2 cycles.
