I stopped Loestrin Fe

Hi everyone,
I was taking Loestrin Fe for about 4 months, and only started getting the supposed 3 day period at the fourth month. I wasn't able to renew my prescription at the time due to insurance issues, so i figured I would start taking it again on the first day of my next period. Only it's been two months now and I still haven't gotten a period!!!

Has anyone experienced this? When can I expect to get the next period?

Re: I stopped Loestrin Fe

Achieving a period of less than 3 days occurs by cycle 6 in their clinical trials. Alot of women don't even have a period on Loestrin 24! If you don't consider yourself lucky! Think of how much money you will save by not buying as many femine products!

Re: I stopped Loestrin Fe

Since I stopped taking it though, I haven't had a period for two months!! It's just making me nervous. How long does it take for my body to adjust to not taking it anymore?

I took Loestrin for 7 months. The 1st normal period 2nd light period 3rd spotting 4-7 no period. I hated it. I stopped and went to the name brand of the pill I was on before which is Ortho Cept and I got my period on time the very next month. I have that was just waiting to come down. IMO It's just not natural to not have period. I had lots of problems while on Lo.
The pills differs with everyone. Have you taken a pregnancy test?

Re: I stopped Loestrin Fe

You are having a very common side effect from withdrawal of quitting the pill. If you do a search on this board for other posts from women who quit taking the pill, you will find that it's probably one of the most common complaints from women who quit taking the pill, they don't get a real period for a while. There is really no way to tell when it will come back. For some, like me, it came back normally 28 days later. But for other women, it takes their body a lot longer (anywhere from 6-12 months in some cases) for their ovaries to wake up again and start the regular menstrual cycle.

I really wouldn't worry too much. There is nothing wrong with you. I doubt you are pregnant unless you had unprotected sex since quitting the pill. But as I said, you need to search through the posts on this board because there are so many from women complaining about losing their period after quitting the pill! There are a TON of them on here! You just have to look for them.
