BC Pills and Hunger - Birth Control Message Board

I have been on my birth control pills for almost a year (Ortho-Tri Cyclen Lo). A few months after I started them I started getting really hungry around the end of my second week of pills and the beginning of my third week of pills. I don't have cravings I am just hungry. I can eat a huge breakfast and one hour later be hungry again. This also doesn't happen every month. I went at least 3 months since the last time it happened. I was just wondering if it was the birth control pills that is causing this.

i would like to see an answer for this also. i go through the same thing. im on yasmin and i can just eat and eat and eat. all the time. i thought it might be my BC too but i really have no idea. hope someone can help.

oh my gosh, i thought i was the only one!! i never used to eat much at all...was never really hungry..but NOW dear lord! like you said, i can eat a big meal and then be STARVING an hour later! i'm on nordette and am considering switching for a variety of reasons and i'd like to know if this should be one of them.

Yes, the pill can increase the appetite pretty much like a steroid does.
It's usually a matter of getting one that suits you if it doesn't settle down.
