pill causing constant nasal congestion? - Birth Control Message Board

hii.
im 17 and i have been on the pill for i think 3 y rs. for ovary problems. but for the past 2 years i have really bad "allergies" with constant nose congestion. i was reading today that the pill can cause nasal congestion. i was wondering if anyone new about this?

I have never read that about the pill. I've read it causes a large number of OTHER problems, but nasal congestion is not among those things that I have read.

I have b een more congested after starting the pill and I do not know if it is related because other things have changed in my life that might be the cause. I know the pill does make your blood thicker and maybe it has something to do with that and blood flow. Interesting question

My question is if someone can be allergic to the pill like as in a food allergy or other drug allergy as in having hives. And if so how rare is it?

Thats really weird actually, because I feel like my nose is constantly blocked! The most annoying thing is that it feels as if Ipermanently have something stuck to the back of my throat where my nose joins my mouth, and I can never seem to clear it. Very frustrating, although thats the first i heard of congestion being a side effect!
