Changing pill start date.. - Birth Control Message Board

I tried to search to see if this has been discussed before as i'm sure it has, but probably wasn't using the right search terms so got nothing..

Right now I am a wednesday start. I would like to be a friday start. Because I really can't find an answer, I'm thinking about just starting my new pack tomorrow (friday)--my last active pill was this past tuesday. Is there a better way, or is this it?

thats the best way to do it. if you start next friday then you will lose pregnancy protection because you would be going more than 7 days without active pills. Warning though you may have a strange period, maybe shorter or maybe you'll have spoting for a few extra days. Ive had both from the two different times I changed my start day, also on two different pills so who knows? When I did a similar swich to yours I went from sunday start to a wednesday I had spotting for two weeks insted of my normal peroid.

You will still be going more than 7 days without active pills if you start Friday and you could ovulate. You may not be protected until the next cycle. it would have been better to take 2 extra pills before your 7 day break.

if she started taking placebo pills on wed. then she would only be going 2 days with out hormones not 7, then she would start taking the active pills. She is saying she started her placebo pills on wednesday 8/22 and then will begin her new pack on friday 8/24 so the only days she would have no hormones would be wednesday and thursday. So how could she be going 7 days with out active pills? I think that you thought she was going to start her new pack on friday 8/31 which in that case she would be going more than 7 days with out hormones and she would not be protected from pregnancy. If she is still confused she can call the pharmacy but they will tell her the same thing I said, just start the new pack in the middle of your placebo week thats what they told me to do when I switched days.

Yes, you are right, sorry, i got mixed up with the Fridays. Just didn't want her to get caught out.
