when is it considered missed?

When is your "period" considered missed when on birth control? Is it missed when you start taking the new pack or is it missed before that or after that? I am sure I'm not making any sense but I'm going insane. I normally get my "period" on Friday and now it's Monday and still nothing. I'm supposed to start my new pack tomorrow and I am getting really nervous, even though I don't think I could be preg. I'm just really nuts when it comes to this!!
Thanks!

Re: when is it considered missed?

This is only a guess here (because I don't think I have ever read anywhere an official definition of a missed period for someone on the pill), but I would consider it missed when you are supposed to start your next pack and it still hasn't arrived.

You say you don't think you are pregnant, are you positive? Maybe you could take a pregnancy test to rule it bout before starting your next pack.

As for it really being missed, did you have absolutely no spotting? Any spotting at other times? Have all your periods on the pill up until now been normal?

Re: when is it considered missed?

You still can miss a whole period when on the pill. One of my best friends went through two packs without a period and she is fine. But take the test anywas to bring yourself some peace of mind.

Re: when is it considered missed?

took a test came out neg. like I thought it would, but still I had to know. I'm OTClo, my husband uses a condom and pulls out!! Plus we only had sex the past 2 months 2x!! I have a gyn. appt. tomorrow, I scheduled it 3 weeks ago, the dr. had to reschedule so I just know I'll get it tomorrow right before hand but...
I have had a stressful month and have been sick on top of that for the last week. I really just didn't need this to do this to me now.
Thanks to all who replied.
