yasmin breakout - Birth Control Message Board

I'm on my 3rd pack of Yasmin (start my 4th in 2 weeks) and after my first pack my face started to break out really bad on my chin and under my nose. At first i thought it was from stress because my boyfriend had broke up with me but it's been a month and a half and my face is still broke out. I've NEVER had a problem with acne, in fact this is the first time my face has ever broke out in my entire life and i'm 26. Of course i get a few pimples here and there but this is insane and it hurts!!! Now my lips have been chapped for the passed several days. I read a few posts about others having a breakout when they first start yasmin that lasted like 3 months. I can't stand this and don't know if i'm going to be able to put up with this for much longer. Make up pretty much covers it a good bit but it still hurts and it's making me very uncomfortable!! If I stick with yasmin is my face definitely going to clear back up or is it a chance i'll have to take.

Like all birth control side effects, it varies by person. My acne actually started clearing up within a few months of being on Yasmin and now I only have small hormonal breakouts once a month. If you're not having any other side effects, you might want to see if your doctor will prescribe you a topical cream or other medication that might help with your acne.
