Levonelle - Birth Control Message Board

Has anyone used Levonelle before as an emergency contraception? I had sex with someone and the condom broke so i took levonelle the day after, less than 24 hours ago. I was on the 6th day of my period and i know i was not ovulating. When i took the pill, i had another period the week after, which i am assuming is normal. However, i am now due for my period (a month after the original period i had before i took the pill) and i have not had it yet. Thing is i am not sure if i am due for my period though because of the second period i got. Anyone taken this pill before and can let me know please coz i dunno. i am not getting my period, which is my original period (30 days after the first period i had before i took the pill). I know i am not making any sense i just hope someone understands this

Any time you take emergency contraception, it's going to mess up your cycle. It's really not unusal to have some strangeness with your current cycle, because your body had a mega dose of hormones with that pill.

I think that you will probably get back to a more normal schedule once the hormones get out of your system. I'm guessing that probably by next month you should be fine.

You can check with the pharmacist or your doctor who prescribed the pill for you, but I'm pretty sure that what you are experiencing is not at all unsual.
